Design & Build

• Material: The main body is constructed from molded plastic, featuring the words "RELEASE CLIP" stamped directly onto the top arm.
• Color Options: It is available in at least two highly visible colors: Black and Red.
• Mechanism: It utilizes a central spring-loaded tension mechanism. The metal coil spring provides the necessary clamping force to hold a fishing line in place until a specific amount of pulling force triggers it to open.
• Attachment Points: The rear of the clip features a brass-grommeted hole and secondary smaller holes, allowing it to be securely pinned, tied, or shackled to a downrigger weight, planer board, or outrigger line.

How It Works

In fishing applications, your fishing line is placed between the padded jaws at the front of the clip.

1. While Trolling: The clip holds the line firmly so your lure can be pulled through the water at depth.
2. The "Release": When a fish strikes the lure, the sudden tension pulls the line cleanly out of the clip's jaws. This detaches your rod line from the heavy downrigger or outrigger system, allowing you to fight the fish directly without any extra drag or weight.
